Oberammergau in Upper Bavaria is famous for its wood carvings, the Passion Plays and its beautiful Ammertal Alpine panorama. In 1946 the master glove maker Franz Ziener Senior from the Erzgebirge founded his glove manufactory here. What were once high-quality, handmade street gloves are now technically innovative gloves for winter and bike sports. A diverse line of functional clothing has been completing the product portfolio of the functional specialist for several years. The traditional company, which Franz Ziener manages in the third generation together with the managing director Frank Burig, is now one of the market leaders in Europe in the field of winter sports gloves.
In the winter of 2017/2018, ZIENER drew on its extensive experience in winter sports and for the first time developed a high-quality clothing line for active winter sports enthusiasts. The focus was especially on ski touring and cross-country skiing. The wide and high quality product range enables optimum equipment for all active people, which can be combined according to the onion principle and also leaves nothing to be desired in terms of design and look.
From winter 2018/2019, ZIENER expanded its brand presence with a picture logo. ZIENER's affinity with winter sports and biking was taken up in the design: The three lines of the "Z's" embody different slopes and their average gradations: the blue slope for beginners with a gradient of 15 degrees, the red slope for advanced skiers with a gradient of 27 degrees and the black Pro slope with a gradient of 48 degrees. At the same time, the hashtag #canyouridetheline was created to call winter and bike athletes on the social media channels to the next adventure.
