Bergans of Norway is one of the leading suppliers of outdoor equipment and technically functional clothing. The spectrum ranges from a wide selection of clothing for outdoor enthusiasts, hunters and expedition teams to lifestyle-oriented leisure wear, tents, sleeping mats, sleeping bags, backpacks and Ally folding canoes. Ever since the company was founded, its products have been used on small and large expeditions all over the world. This is one of the reasons why Bergans can look back on an eventful company history, which began as early as 1908, when the bicycle manufacturer, enthusiastic hunter and nature lover Ole F. Bergan invented a groundbreaking carrying frame for backpacks. The idea came to him on a hunting trip, where he had to carry hunting prey and equipment laboriously on his back and returned home with aching bones and full of wounds. Three years later, Bergans equipped the expedition of Roald Amundsen and his companions with backpacks, who set out to reach the geographic South Pole (90° 0′ S). Bergans supported us for the first time during our tour for the blind in summer 2012 and now the company is again actively involved in our world tour.
